DR. SUSAN VETTOR

Dr. Susan Vettor received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Andrews University, and is a licensed psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Her area of practice includes Clinical and Counseling psychology with adults and the elderly. Dr. Vettor is able to provide psychotherapy as well as conduct diagnostic assessments. While her approach to treatment is primarily psychodynamic, it is informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, trauma informed care, as well as Dialectical Behavioural Therapy for a variety of presenting concerns (e.g., mood disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, bereavement, and stress). Her primary research interest is conversion disorder (functional neurological disorder). Dr. Vettor has over 20 years of clinical experience in a variety of settings. In addition to private practice, Dr. Vettor is a psychologist at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, where she also serves as the Doctoral Internship Coordinator. Dr. Vettor is also an accreditation site visitor for the Canadian Psychological Association.

DANIELLE BESSELING

Danielle completed her Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto in 2008. She has also completed the two-year training program at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland as well as the Emotion Focused Therapy training program at York University. Danielle also holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University and prior to becoming a social worker, spent 10 years working in marketing and sales in the packaged goods and marketing services industries. She has a specialty in the field of Eating Disorders and has worked in the Adult Eating Disorders program at North York General Hospital for the past 12 years. After working in private practice with clients for over 10 years, she has gained extensive experience working with grief and loss, depression, anxiety, and childhood trauma and abuse. She has received specialized training in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, Prolonged Exposure therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy for Complex Trauma and Emotion Focused Family Therapy. Danielle is passionate about helping clients gain awareness and acceptance of their emotions and needs to empower them to cultivate the life that they want. Primarily working with adults, she can help clients navigate the difficulty that major life transitions present such as, loss, illness, divorce, family changes and career issues. Her approach is client-centered and collaborative; and she considers compassion and humour to be essential for building a safe therapeutic relationship.
